Istanbul football matches bring European competition to the city on 20 and 22 October 2026. If you want to attend, start with confirmed UEFA fixtures, then check official club ticket rules, stadium entry requirements and your route home. Here are the practical details international visitors need.
Istanbul football matches: confirmed October 2026 fixtures
UEFA lists Fenerbahçe against Slavia Praha on Tuesday 20 October in the Champions League. UEFA also lists Beşiktaş against Crystal Palace on Thursday 22 October in the Europa League. Both are Istanbul home matches; schedules can still change.
Fenerbahçe vs Slavia Praha: 20 October
The UEFA fixture page lists the match at 18:45. Fenerbahçe play on the Asian side of Istanbul in Kadıköy. Confirm kickoff time, ticket rules and stadium entry instructions with Fenerbahçe and UEFA before making plans.
Beşiktaş vs Crystal Palace: 22 October
Beşiktaş’s official match page lists 22 October at 22:00 local time at Tüpraş Stadyumu. The ground is close to the Beşiktaş waterfront. See the club’s official match page for confirmation.
Where to buy tickets safely
Start with the home club’s official website and follow its authorized ticket link. Ticket registration, identity checks and away-fan rules depend on the match. Never rely on an anonymous reseller or an unverified screenshot of a mobile ticket.
Do tourists need Passolig?
Requirements differ by competition and sale. Do not assume every UEFA match follows the same rules as a domestic Süper Lig match. Read the specific club ticket announcement before paying.
Getting to the stadium
Kadıköy has ferry and rail links, while Beşiktaş can be reached from several European-side transport corridors. Matchday security and road restrictions may change the final walking route. Check Metro Istanbul for service notices and our Istanbulkart guide for normal transport information.
Matchday rules and safety
Bring valid identification, arrive early, use the entrance printed on your ticket and check the stadium’s prohibited-items policy. Away supporters should follow their club’s instructions rather than attempting to enter a home-fan section.
Which fixtures are not in Istanbul?
UEFA lists Galatasaray away at Lille on 21 October, so that game should not be advertised as an Istanbul event. For other domestic matches, use the Turkish Football Federation schedule instead of an unverified event roundup.
Frequently asked questions
Can tourists attend? Usually, subject to eligibility and ticket availability. Can you buy on matchday? Never assume so. Is transport running after a late kickoff? Check that night’s official service announcements. Last checked: 18 October 2026.
football matches in Istanbul October 2026: frequently asked questions
Can I buy a ticket if I do not live in Türkiye?
Some matches permit international buyers, but the account, identification and ticket-delivery requirements must be checked for that exact game. Do not assume a passport alone guarantees eligibility or that the club will sell tickets on matchday.
Where should I stay for a football weekend?
For Fenerbahçe, Kadıköy or another well-connected Asian-side neighborhood can simplify the journey. For Beşiktaş, a European-side base with good access to Beşiktaş may be more convenient. A short map distance is not always a short trip on matchday.
What time should I arrive?
Plan to reach the stadium area well before kickoff. Security queues, ticket checks and street closures can slow entry. The precise gate-opening time belongs to the organizer; consult the club’s match announcement.
Can I bring a camera or backpack?
Rules for bags, cameras, batteries and other items can vary by competition and stadium. Check the prohibited-items list before leaving. A locker or luggage storage option should not be assumed to exist at the stadium.
