These four Sultanahmet hotels are all small, central and offer several room types: Hotel Amira and White House Hotel are in Sultanahmet, while Neorion Hotel and Romance Istanbul Hotel are in Sirkeci, a short tram ride away. The right one depends on how many people you are travelling with, whether you need stairs-free access and whether you want outdoor space.

Which hotel suits which traveller?
- Families: Neorion Hotel lists family and family-connected rooms. Amira also has family suites.
- Couples who want outdoor space: Romance Istanbul Hotel’s terrace rooms, or White House Hotel’s French balconies. A French balcony is a railing at a window, not a furnished terrace.
- Guests who cannot use stairs: Amira states it is unsuitable for people with disabilities. Ask any hotel for written confirmation of the route to your room.
- Short stays with a lot of sightseeing: Sultanahmet puts you beside the main sights. Sirkeci is a short tram ride away on the same T1 line and is also a rail hub.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sirkeci a good area to stay in Istanbul?
It is close to the old city and has a T1 tram stop and rail connections, so it works for sightseeing. Ask the hotel for a quieter room if street or tram noise would bother you.
Which of these hotels is best for families?
Neorion Hotel publishes family and family-connected rooms. Check the exact layout before you book.
